Moore Captures 3 Gold Medals In Championships

March 2, 2019

Bermuda’s Madelyn Moore and her Northern Colorado Swimming and Diving teammates got out to a great start during of the WAC Championships, sitting in second with 209.5 points at the end of the day.

Things started off well with the 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Moore, Maria Heymans, Morgan King and Emily Hamel, setting a school record by clocking a winning time of 1:40.66.

The time beat the previous record by over two seconds, set back in 2013. The group had already qualified for the College Swimming National Invitational Championship [NICA] earlier this year but helped their seeding going into it with the first place finish.

The Women 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Moore, Nicole Depooter, King, and Hamel clocked a winning time of 1:31.32 to claim their second gold medal of the event, also setting a school record.

Moore then clocked the fastest Women’s 50 Yard Freestyle Preliminary time of 22.50.

Moore then shared the gold medal in the final, collecting her third of the championships in a dead tie for first with Northern Arizona’s Elis Rodriguez when both were clocked at 22.71. Moore broke her own school record that she set previously this year and earned a NIC A-Qualifying Time.
