November Consumer Price Index Report

Today, the Minister for the Cabinet Office Walton Brown released the November 2018 Consumer Price [CPI] Index publication from the Department of Statistics.

The Minister explained, “In November 2018 consumers paid 0.8% more for the CPI basket of goods and services than they did in November 2017. Between October 2018 and November 2018 the average cost of all goods and services fell 0.2%. The 12 month and year to date average rate of inflation for November 2018 is 1.5%.”

Of the nine sectors in the all items index the largest year-over-year contributors to the November 2018 inflation rate are highlighted below:

  • The Health & Personal Care sector rose 3.0%.
  • The Education, Recreation, Entertainment & Reading sector rose 1.5%.
  • The Fuel & Power sector advanced by 7.0%.
