A very interesting discussion.
One question though, what if anything are local musicians doing to improve their skills?. Some have been mediocre for a very long time.
Speaking for myself, I constantly add to my repertoire, spend hours learning to improve my skills, work daily on my social media presence, create new products and venues whenever I can, release new projects all the time – I have three CDs out, I’ve created a healthy international name for myself – to the point where I’m headlining festivals…
All this and I can’t seem to find a regular, decent-paying job in my industry between October and May.
