BFRS Respond To Vehicle Incident In Smiths

Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a vehicle fire in Smiths this morning [May 21] and arrived to find smoke coming from a derelict taxi, according to officials.

BFRS Staff Officer Sergeant Allan Wilkinson said, “Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service received a call via 911 reporting a vehicle fire at the junction of Harrington Hundreds Rd. and Loquat Lane in Smiths at 11:43am. Four personnel responded from Hamilton Station in one appliance.

“Upon arrival firefighters noticed smoke coming from a derelict taxi. Firefighters were able to ventilate as there was no fire to extinguish. Fire damage was noticed in the front seat area and the incident is currently under investigation.”
