Campbell Joins Bitcarbon & Diamond Standard
Bitcarbon Technologies – a new company that has applied for a digital assets business license in Bermuda — announced that it has made its first local hire, with James Campbell joining the company as Chief Financial Officer.
He has also taken the role of CFO at Diamond Standard Ltd., a sister company which is building an electronic diamond exchange also to be based in Bermuda, the company said.
A spokesperson said, “Bitcarbon Technologies Ltd., a new company that has applied for a digital assets business license, has made its first local hire.
“James Campbell, a Bermudian resident and CPA CA, has accepted the role of Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Campbell has deep roots in Bermuda, most recently advising the Bermuda Hospitals Board, and previously he was the CFO of Counterpartylink Ltd., a financial data company based in Hamilton and the UK.
“He has more than 30 years of financial and operational experience, particularly with technology and telecom startups. He has also taken the role of CFO at Diamond Standard Ltd., a sister company which is building an electronic diamond exchange also to be based in Bermuda.
“Mr. Campbell joins Bermudian Heather Kitson, who is an experienced independent director, on the company’s board of directors. As a senior executive, among other roles, he will represent the company, and its Bermuda affiliates, in interactions with the Bermuda Government and Bermuda Monetary Authority.
“The company will operate from a temporary office at 55 Par La Ville Road, in Hamilton. From there Mr. Campbell will oversee expansion of the companies, with a goal to hire substantially for the Diamond Standard Exchange, which will also be applying to be overseen by the Bermuda Monetary Authority.”

this is wonderful news. The fact that a local was hired and he holds one of the top positions in the company is excellent news. Trust more announcements like this will come in the near future from other companies in fintech who are excited about doing business here.
