Lightbourne & Dears Receive Anti-Doping Bans
Two competitors who took part in the 2018 Night of Champions have received bans for anti-doping rule violations, with Alexa Lightbourne handed a four year ban, while Jerry-Dee Dears was banned for two years.
According to the ruling posted on the Bermuda Sports Anti-Doping Authority’s website [PDF], both had the “Presence of a Prohibited Substance or its Metabolites or Markers in an Athlete’s Sample.”
Lightbourne’s substances included Heptaminol, D and L Amphetamine, Tamoxifen metabolite and Clenbuterol, and she was handed a 4-year period of ineligibility expiring on August 8th, 2022.
Dears’ substances included 5-methyl-2-hexanamine [2-amino-5-methylhexane] and she was handed a 2-year period of ineligibility expiring on August 29th, 2020.
