Ministry Thanks Teachers For Their Dedication

May 8, 2019

“If you can read this sentence, thank a teacher,” said the Minister of Education Diallo Rabain, with the Ministry of Education saying they wish to “extend their appreciation to all Bermuda teachers in honour of this year’s National Teacher Appreciation Week.”

The Ministry thanked “educators for the critical role they play in molding the leaders of tomorrow, and ensuring our children are properly equipped to make positive contributions to Bermuda and the world.”

The Minister of Education commented, “I want to acknowledge all of our teachers for their dedication to our schools and our students. I often say teaching is the only profession that teaches all other professions. They deserve recognition not just today, but every day.”

The Minister continued, “The Department of Education continues to implement the strategies embedded within Plan 2022, which has been in effect for one year.

“One of the overall Plan objectives is ‘Enhancing the Quality of Teacher Practice and System Leadership’, in order to have a sustained and transformative impact on the academic achievement of young people. The Ministry and the Department remain committed to ensuring that teachers have all of the necessary resources, training and professional development to achieve this goal.”
