TN Tatem ‘Will Not Open For 2019/20 School Year’
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that TN Tatem Middle School ”will not open for the 2019/20 school year.”
There have been ongoing problems due to the condition of the building, and last month students were relocated to other schools.
“Yesterday, Minister Rabain met with the TN Tatem Principal, PTSA Executive and Health and Safety Officer Teacher Representative, and today met with TN Tatem parents and teachers to inform them of this decision,” a Ministry spokesperson said.
The Ministry added that further details will be outlined in a press conference tomorrow morning.
Of course the little kids are going to blame the OBA, just get on and govern if you know how. That’s why the OBA are the opposition, where your going to be shortly.
Dreamers
They are opposition because SpoongeBob told seniors money dont grow on trees and we have no money, then turn around the next week and say they found $77 Million for a sailboat race.
300+ million injected stupid
That was a projected promise, like de trickle down effect.
Count Bassie
Is that a bit like a projected budget surplus?
Um no. That was injected. All good tho. U lot gonna suffer harder anyway lmao. Jealousy gets u nowhere.
And what about the governing part..crickets!!
I didn’t read this in Vision 2022?!?!
Pee El Pee!! Pee El Pee!! Deceiving voters since 1998!! Keep drinking de titty milk!!! Hahahaha!!
2022 is when it will be open
Be careful what you ask for you might get it…the teachers complain about mold..now the school will not open again children now will be relocated and teachers will be made redundant.
Redundancies? Or will we just pay everyone to stay home and not work?
The teachers are still teaching, the support staff are likely being deployed elsewhere, so where are you going with this suggestion of making people redundant from a situation not of their making?
The same place a bank posting 50 million in profits went when they got rid of an entire branch.
Well played!
Wait. So if this had been the Oba doing this the people’s campaign, tweed, peggy, etc woulda been out holding up picket signs. But of course it’s the plp so all is fine and dandy. Insane.
Get some smoothies and have a hunger strike that is the only way to combat this wickedness.
It’s just an excuse to close a school. There’s a lot more school closures coming,
WHEN WILL THE PEOPLE’S CAMPAIGN PROTEST?!
Just kidding.
This just in: TN Tatem to be repurposed as the fintech hub of Bermuda! Plenty of room for a chicken farm too!
The $3m of public funds projected to be spent on legal fees for the Privy Council case against SSM would probably go a long way to improving the building…but then that would be showing humanity as well as making sensible financial decisions…
OBA dreamers still hacking away with the negativity. Please go back to sleep; it’s what you do best.
AGREED!
Actually, this may not be a bad thing. There are not enough students at present to fill the schools, so closing one will save money and the students can go to other schools. Consolidation is what would happen if our education system was not a public service.
Falling birthrates and no inward immigration means less children. So if the present pupils can be accommodated at other schools why waste money here? Close it and save the $3m plus ongoing expenses of maintenance, teachers etc. Hard decisions need to be made. Basic 101, unfortunately this is beyond the comprehension of the PLP.
Bring your children to the UK, before Bermuda sinks lower!!
25-11 !!!
Nice to see that not one of the trolls posting so far has expressed any concern for the children or teachers that have had to deal with a situation not of their making. Politics trumps all in this country.
Instead of paying out 3 million as stated for the work that needs to be done, just knock it down as it should never have been built there anyway on marshy ground.
