Four Arrested After Incident At Bailey’s Bay
[Updated] Four people have been arrested following a “disturbance” at the Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club, the police have confirmed.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 8pm Wednesday, June 26th police officers responded to 911 calls regarding a disturbance at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club.
“Information suggests that an altercation occurred between two men, with one brandishing a bladed article.
“At this time it is understood that one man sustained injuries to his hand – apparently unrelated to the altercation – and is currently being treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. An update on his medical condition is anticipated in due course.
“Four other men have been arrested in connection with this incident and inquiries continue.
“Any witnesses are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the independent and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477 at the earliest opportunity.”
Update 8.45am: A police spokesperson said, “It has since been confirmed that three men and one woman were arrested in connection with the reported disturbance at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club that occurred around 8pm Wednesday – not four men as originally reported.
“Inquiries continue regarding the circumstances of this incident and a further update is anticipated in due course.
“Witnesses are still encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the independent and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477 at the earliest opportunity.”
Update 6.40pm: A police spokesperson said, “Police attended a disturbance at the Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club grounds in Hamilton Parish around 8pm Wednesday, 26th June resulting in three men and one woman being arrested.
“Two of those persons [a 35-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man] appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning [Thursday, June 27th]. Both were charged with assaulting police and released on court bail until their next scheduled court appearance.
“The other two arrested persons [a 37-year-old man and a 28-year-old man] have since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
“A 31-year-old man that injured his hand in a door at the club during the incident was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital.

Seriously, how does this club still have a liquor license?? Makes one really wonder about the honesty of our system??!!
It seems BBCC is following in the same rut as Rangers.
