Aug 25: BUEI Films To Screen AI Documentary
A 2018 documentary which explores the promise and potential perils of Artificial Intelligence [AI] will be screening as part of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] Film Series on Sunday [Aug 25].
Director Chris Paine’s Do You Trust This Computer? focuses on on how today’s self-learning computers are reshaping almost every aspect of our lives. With incomprehensible amounts of online data being collected, interpreted, and fed back to us in a tsunami of apps, smart devices, and targeted advertisements, virtually every field of human endeavor is feeling this transformation, from job automation to medical diagnostics, from elections to battlefield weapons.
The film begins at 5:15pm in the Tradewinds Auditorium. Tickets are $15 each, $12 for students, and are available from www.Ptix.bm or by calling or visiting the BUEI’s Oceans Gift Shop at 294-0204.
