BFA Beach Soccer Tournament On Saturday
The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] will hold their Corporate Beach Soccer Tournament tomorrow [Sept 14] from 12.00pm to 5.00pm at Horseshoe Bay Beach.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] will hold its 3rd Annual Corporate Beach Soccer Tournament this Saturday, September 14th at Horseshoe Bay Beach. As one of the leading sports internationally, the BFA believes the Corporate Beach Soccer Tournament brings together players of all levels, while uniting a broader audience.
BFA President Mark Wade said, “The Corporate Beach Soccer Tournament has become a regular feature on the Bermuda summer calendar. It is an integral part of the BFA’s approach to football. By expanding the forms of football played throughout the island we grow our outreach; encouraging everyone to find a form of the game that suits their lives. The day promises to be an exciting and rewarding experience for everyone”.
“The primary purpose is to promote Beach Soccer/Football by providing an inclusive fun, family oriented and safe event, which provides families and fans with an alternative to regular soccer/football.
“In addition, as members of the Federation Internationale de Football Association [FIFA], we are promoting an endeavor that all member organizations are working to implement in their respective countries, and as such, Bermuda wants to make its contribution to the international soccer/football community.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda [BBBS] will again receive the charitable donations from this event. BBBS was selected because of their commitment to meeting the needs of the youth in our community. ”
Ashley Godek, from the KPMG Team that placed 2nd last year stated, “It’s a great atmosphere, stunning location and all for a good cause. The team is most looking forward to some good natured competitive matches and an old fashioned gritty battle in the final, which they will look to avenge this year!
BFA Assistant Technical Development Director, Don Vickers stated, “Beach soccer/football has the potential, if used appropriately, to be an avenue to enhance the development of football players.
“This event remains one that the team looks forward to because helping people in need and assisting organizations that aid others is something our project manager, Pahn-ya Ratteray, and I highly value. All charities play a vital role in Bermuda, and it is important that we can find ways to collaborate and support each other and people we serve.”
The event is free and all are welcome to join them at Horseshoe Bay Beach from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm. For more information please contact Don Vickers at adtdadmin@bermudafootball.com.
