Colonial Urges People: Check Policies, Properties
[Updated] As Hurricane Humberto makes its approach to Bermuda, Colonial Insurance is “urging people to ensure their policies are up to date.”
Richard Espinet Chief Operating Officer, P&C, said: “In addition to policies, people must ensure that their properties are safe and secure. Hurricane Humberto is forecast to be a Category 3 storm when it passes Bermuda – it should not be taken lightly.”
Mr Espinet said that depending on weather conditions and the Emergency Measures Organisation’s reports, Colonial’s offices, on Reid Street, will be open tomorrow [Wednesday] from 8.30am to 5pm, however they could close early.
Regular operations will resume once the Emergency Measures Organisation says it is safe to be on the roads.
“If you need to notify us of a claim but are unable to contact us, people can call or text our emergency numbers: 747 3700 or 537 3700 or contact us via our website www.cgigroup.com.”
Updates will be posted on Colonial’s Facebook page or people can call 296 3700.
Update 6.08pm: Colonial said, “After the latest EMO update on Hurricane Humberto, we have decided to close our offices at 3:00pm tomorrow (Wednesday September 18th). We intend to open as normal on Thursday, September 19th unless the EMO advises otherwise.”
