Somerset Police Station Closed Due To Damage
Due to roof damage sustained during Hurricane Humberto, Somerset Police Station has been closed to the public until further notice.
A police spokesperson said, “Due to roof damage sustained during Hurricane Humberto, Somerset Police Station has been closed to the public until further notice and police personnel that were working at that location have been temporarily relocated to the Dockyard Marine & Community Policing office.
“Thankfully, no one was hurt. A full assessment of the damage is taking place and members of the public are advised to avoid the property until the building is fully repaired.
“In the meantime, western parish residents can always call the main police telephone number 295-0011 for assistance or visit the Dockyard police office, located at 2 Sally Port Lane, North Basin, Royal Naval Dockyard – next to the Makin’ Waves store.”

Hopefully , it can be reopened in the next two or three weeks , having a knowledge that the station is around the corner did give a bit of feeling secure. St George’s still does not have a functioning police station in the Town , it must be two or three years , yet over 30 million was spent in Dockyard for America,s Cup. We the people don’t rate.
Its called priority, thats why their @$$€$ got voted out.
St George’s Police Station was closed by the PLP. Twice. In 2007, and again in 2012.
But don’t let facts get in the way of your insane ramblings.
