13 Flights, 8 Cruises Cancelled Due To Storms

The overall impact on tourism statistics due to Hurricane Humberto is expected to be released in the third quarter results next month, however the Bermuda Tourism Authority has confirmed that 12 flights and 8 cruises were cancelled due to the storm. In addition, a WestJet flight was cancelled on September 24th due to the threat of Tropical Storm Jerry, which never actually ended up impacting the island.

The 12 flights that were cancelled:

Sept 18:

  • JetBlue [JFK]
  • JetBlue [BOS]
  • Delta [BOS]
  • Delta [ATL]
  • AA [JFK]
  • AA [MIA]
  • BA [LGW]
  • JetBlue [JFK]

Sept 19:

  • JetBlue [JFK]
  • AA [MIA]
  • AA [JFK]
  • WestJet [YYZ]

The BTA added, “Total projected cruise ship calls fell from 185 to 176 due to eight cancellations [Sept 2, 18, 23, 24 and 25]. But 36 more cruise calls are left for the rest of 2019, due to continued trend of extended season through non-summer months.”
