New Date For Final Health Town Hall Meeting
The Ministry of Health is advising of a date change for the final town hall meeting to discuss the Bermuda Health Plan, with the meeting now to be held on October 17.
A spokesperson said, “The final meeting will now be held on October 17, instead of October 10. The revised date is to allow for the community to fully assess and review the information which has been shared by the Ministry on this important issue.”
Minister of Health Kim Wilson said, “First and foremost, I wish to thank everyone who has attended the two meetings we have had so far. We’ve had some very thoughtful input from the public regarding this critical topic and our panel has found the feedback invaluable.
“Healthcare is a national issue which affects each and every person in Bermuda, and our Ministry is very sensitive to that fact. We want to continue to have a robust and engaging discussion about healthcare reform.
“In order to do that we must ensure that we provide every opportunity for all of Bermuda to review our plans to improve healthcare.
“So, we want to allow for a little more time between our last meeting, which was on Monday evening and our next meeting – which will now be October 17.”
The spokesperson said, “The final Town Hall meeting to discuss the Bermuda Health Plan will be held at Pennos Wharf starting at 6.30 p.m.
“Over the next several days, members of the public are encouraged to review the proposed Bermuda Health Plan; they can do so by visiting www.gov.bm/healthplan. The Ministry of Health welcomes feedback on the proposed plan.”
