Photos/Video: Point House Student Competition

October 17, 2019

[Updated with photos] The Green family has partnered with the Bermuda National Gallery [BNG] to host an art competition for middle school students. Students from across the island were today [Oct 17] busy painting murals on the wooden boards that surround Point House [formerly the HBSC building], which is currently under construction.

The 9-minute live video replay is below:

Participating schools will each receive a cheque for $1,000, with the winners receiving larger prizes: first place will receive $5,000 for their school, second place $3,000 and third place $2,000. The winning murals will be chosen by a team of judges made up of representatives from the Green family and the BNG.

.

Each student was given a tee-shirt, drinks and snacks as well as all the art materials they need to bring their mural to life. Students were encouraged to come up with a mural design around the theme “My Bermuda”.
