Bus Route Will Stop Traveling Over Langton Hill
Effective December 2nd, the Bus Route 4 will no longer travel over Langton Hill, Pembroke “in the interest of public safety.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Public Transportation advises the public, that effective 2 December, 2019, Bus Route 4 via North Shore Road will no longer travel over Langton Hill, Pembroke.
“Driving public buses along the narrow winding road has proved dangerous, resulting in significant damage to the bus fleet.
“In the interest of public safety, Bus Route 4 via North Shore will no longer service Langton Hill, but will instead service Black Watch Pass. Bus Route 4 via St. John’s Road remains unchanged.
“The Department of Public Transportation thanks the public for their understanding. Passengers may contact the Department on 292-3851, or email info@dpt.bm with any queries.

They should have mini buses take over that route.
Oh puhleese, that would make way too much sense. Maybe PTB, along with the Minister can talk about it & get back to us in 17 years.
I agree
How will staff get to govt house?
Government needs to widen the road. The problem area is part of the property belonging to government house. Heavy vehicles use Langton Hill also. The safety issue still needs too be fixed for all vehicles and pedestrians. Government has admitted the danger. Hopefully government will widen the road soon..
That bus route has operated for decades and we get 2 business days notice of cancellation. Really? No attempt at public consultation? No attempt at public feedback or opinion? I guess no one of influence lives on Mount Hill anymore!
Interesting….how’s the new bus schedule coming along?
