Rory Jackson’s ‘A Divine Turquoise Isle’ Today
Masterworks is getting set to present an exhibition by visiting artist Rory Jackson titled ‘A Divine Turquoise Isle.’
Mr. Jackson said, “As a painter, my aim is to bring to life a presence to the viewer, a relationship between the earth and the people who hold covenant with it. Whether is it through light, reflection, movement or design, I want to bring everlasting life to a moment in time.”
A spokesperson said, “Rory spends time between his home in Lincoln, Vermont and the coast of Cape Three Points, Ghana. While painting the landscape of Vermont, he focuses on dramatic light, and space around the mountains and valleys. In Ghana, Rory spends time studying seascapes, village scenes, boats and the reflective light and movement of the sea.”
Tom Butterfield said, “Rory Jackson is one of those natural, rare talents whose work seems so free and effortless. His fluid style is most inviting, and technique does not get in the way.”
The spokesperson said, “Rory’s paintings of Bermuda highlight our stunning coasts, skies and iconic architecture. Rory also shared his gift with budding artists in the Masterworks after school programme. He introduced the students to new techniques and working from life in oil paint.
“All are welcome at the opening of Rory Jackson, A Divine Turquoise Isle on Friday, November 1 in the Rick Faries Gallery at Masterworks from 5.30pm until 7.00pm.”
