Swimming: Daleys Win Medals & Break Records

Elan and Elijah Daley recently took to the Etobicoke Olympium Pool to compete in the Age Group International Short Course Championships in Canada.

On the first day, the pair broke records and won medals.

Elan Daley broke a record and picked up two gold medals competing in the 13-14 Girls Age Group Division.

Daley broke the 200m Freestyle record of 2:07.07 that was set by Logan Watson-Brown back on March 17, 2018 when she was clocked at 2:00.31 during the preliminaries. Daley then broke that record when she touched the wall in a time of 2:00.09 during the final, picking up the gold medal.

Daley also captured the gold medal during the 50m Freestyle final by clocking a time of 25.73. Daley finished fourth in the 100m Butterfly final, clocking 1:03.99.

Elijah Daley, competing in the 13-14 Boy’s Age Group, broke the 200m Butterfly record of 2:19.18 set by Jesse Washington on December 1, 2013 when he touched the wall in a time of 2:18.47 during the preliminaries. He then broke his own record during the 200m Butterfly final when he was clocked at a time of 2:16.04, finishing in third.

Daley clocked a time of 56.84 to finish fifth in the 100m Freestyle final and he finished fourth during the 200m Freestyle final with a time of 2:03.60.

Daley picked up his second bronze medal of the meet when he finished third during the 100m Butterfly final with a time of 1:01.59.
