BNT Christmas Walkabout Set For This Friday
St. George’s is gearing up to host thousands of people as the annual Bermuda National Trust Christmas Walkabout is set to take place on Friday evening [December 6].
A spokesperson said, “St. George’s is the place to be this Friday evening to enjoy the magic of the Annual Bermuda National Trust Christmas Walkabout. Now in its 41st year, this event is a highly anticipated Christmas pastime that brings the community together with all the hustle and bustle associated with the festive season.
“Head east to discover and explore some of the oldest continually occupied buildings in the New World. BNT historic homes like Old Rectory, Bridge House, Stewart Hall, Buckingham, Tucker House, Reeve Court and the Globe Hotel will each offer its own yesteryear experience.
“The National Trust’s members’ area will be located on the ground floor of the National Trust Museum at the Globe Hotel. There, you will find National Trust branded merchandise and locally made crafts and gifts on sale. New memberships are on offer at a special 50% discount for this night only.
“The Trust, with the cooperation of the Department of Marine and Ports, is providing a ferry Friday evening. The ferry will depart at 5pm from Hamilton Ferry terminal and leave St George’s at 9:15pm. Tickets are being sold on www.bnt.bm and only people with tickets will be able to board the ferry. This service is provided to reduce traffic and free up the limited parking areas. We strongly recommend carpooling as an alternative.
“The Bermuda National Trust could not hold this event without a huge amount of community support, the Corporation of St. George’s, Trust volunteers and the generosity of our sponsor, Butterfield, which is supporting the event for the 13th consecutive year. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing the true spirit of Christmas.”
