Court: Man Admits Threat, Having A Machete
[Written by Don Burgess]
In Magistrates Court, a 41-year-old man asked for help for his alcohol problems after admitting two offences.
Dimetri Robinson pleaded guilty to have a bladed article longer than three inches, namely a machete, without good reason.
He also admitted to threatening a person at his office at the Lorraine Rest Home by saying, “If you call the police, I will chop you with this machete.”
This occurred after Mr Robinson had gone into the person’s office.
Mr Robinson asked for the court’s mercy, saying he was ‘very drunk’ and that he desperately needed help for his alcohol addiction.
He was remanded in custody and ordered to attend drug treatment court. A social inquiry report will also be completed. His next court date will be in 2020.
