Two-Day Horticultural Community Cleanup
The Ministry of Public Works in partnership with Keep Bermuda Beautiful, is encouraging all of Bermuda to participate in a two day weekend horticultural community clean-up to remove the final remnants of horticultural waste scattered around our island.
Held on the 14 and 15 of December, from 7:30Am to 4:00pm each day, the public are asked to dispose of all horticultural waste by delivering it to the Marsh Folly Composting Facility for processing.
In support of this initiative, trucking permits for Sunday, 15 December, have been waived.
“This past September, Bermuda endured Hurricane Humberto and Tropical Storm Jerry. However still to this day, remnants of that encounter, in the form of tree limbs and other horticultural waste, remain in areas around Bermuda, “said Minister of Public Works Lt/Col David Burch,
“We are now in the final month of the year, and will soon see the start of 2020. I don’t know about you, but I would rather enter the new year with Bermuda looking its very best.”
“With that goal in mind, I ask that everyone go grab their family, friends, and neighbours, and lets do something good in our neighbourhoods. We can all work together to get Bermuda clean!”
