Video: Nahki Wells Speaks About Hat Trick
“I am just happy to score some important goals for myself and for the team,” Bermudian striker Nahki Wells after notching three goals in a match that saw his Queens Park Rangers defeat Cardiff City by a score of 6 – 1.
In an video posted by QPR, Wells said, “There’s no hiding from the fact that I’ve been through a little spell of finding it difficult to score goals. You know, so many chances have dried up a bit, I missed a few big chances, that’s going to cost us, but to get back amongst the goals today really gives me a lot of confidence.”
“I knew it was coming at some point,” he added. “I am just happy to score some important goals for myself and for the team.
“I’ll never hide away from the fact that my mentality of wanting to do well and doing everything right for the team will never change and I just happened to score the goals, which I feel I deserve.
“I think the manager knows that I have more in my armory then than just scoring goals, and I believe that’s what’s gotten me to where I am today.
“I’m always going to try my best and I’m always going to run and chase and fight and do what I can in that aspect, and I believe that you create your own luck from that end, and today it showed.”
