Dawn Simmons Elected New PLP Chairperson

The PLP held elections to fill vacant positions on the Party Executive, with Dawn Simmons elected as the new Party Chairperson.

A spokesperson said, “At the Reconvening of the Annual Delegates Conference last night, The Progressive Labour Party held elections to fill vacant positions on the Party Executive.

  • Ms. J. Dawn Simmons, JP was elected to fill the post of Party Chairperson.
  • Mr. Steven Robinson was elected to fill the post of Assistant Organizer, Central.
  • Mr. Tulani Bulford was elected to fill the post of Assistant Organizer, West.

“While the PLP has had 3 female Party Leaders, we must note that Ms. Simmons will be the first female Chair of the Party, and we congratulate her on this achievement.”
