Track Athletes Continue To Shine Overseas
Bermuda’s Nathan Armstrong claimed a sectional championship title winning the men’s 1600m in a time of 4:29.02, while Tiara DeRosa won the women’s shot put with a top toss of 14.61m at the SWAC Championships.
Bermuda National Athletics Association President Donna Raynor said, “Nathan Armstrong competed in the Group 1 NJ State Sectionals at Bennett Indoor Athletic Complete. He had a very strong showing in 3 events which is a hard feat indoors and at a championship level. Along with the fact that Nathan has just come of the flu as well makes this a great accomplishment.
- 1st the 1600m in a time of 4:29.02
- 4th in the 800m in a time of 2:04.97
- 1st in the 3200m in a time of 9:52.12
“Tiara DeRosa competed in the SWAC Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama representing Mississippi Valley State University.
- 1st in the shot put with a throw of 14.61m
- 6th in the weight throw breaking her own Bermuda record of 14.89 which she had set Feb 2019 with a throw of 16.56
