Two Vehicle Collision In North Hamilton

[Updated with photos] Police are advising the public that Court Street is now closed off between Ewing Street and Angle Street due to a “serious two vehicle collision” at the junction of Till’s Hill and Ewing Street.

At 10.17am this morning, a police spokesperson said, “Please be advised that as a result of a serious two vehicle collision at the junction of Till’s Hill and Ewing Street, Court Street is now closed off between Ewing Street and Angle Street.”

Update 3.20pm: A police spokesperson said, “At around 9:18 this morning, police and other first responders were called out to a serious road traffic collision, involving a car and a motorcycle near the junction of Ewing Street and Till’s Hill, in North Hamilton.

“Reports are the car was headed north on Court Street, while the motorcycle was headed south on Court Street, when the 25-year-old male motorcycle rider attempted to overtake a taxi and collided with the car driven by a 68-year-old male.

“The motor cycle rider sustained a laceration to the face as well an injured elbow. He was transported to King Edward the Seventh Memorial Hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

“The driver of the car was not injured in the collision.

“The motorcycle was written off while the car was left with extensive damage to the front right hand side.

“Court Street, between Ewing Street and Angle Street was closed off as the Roads Policing Unit assessed the scene.
