The U.S. Consulate General said they “support all efforts made by the Government of Bermuda to ensure the safety and security of the country while combating the spread of Covid-19.”
A spokesperson said, “In accordance with the closure guidelines and social distancing advice issued by the Government of Bermuda, the U.S. Consulate will suspend routine consular services as of March 24.

U.S. Consul General Constance Dierman said, “As the U.S. Consul General to Bermuda, my highest priority is the welfare and safety of U.S. citizens. I encourage all American residents and/or visitors to rally behind the guidelines issued by the Government of Bermuda to contain the virus.
“Echoing sentiments made by His Excellency Governor John Rankin and the Honorable Premier David Burt, I strongly encourage everyone to perform social distancing and self-quarantine measures – as required – which are essential to protecting ourselves, our families, friends, and the entire community. We all have a role to play during these unusual times.
“I also want to extend my sincere thanks to all those many individuals who are on the front lines working tirelessly to ensure everyone’s safety.”
