Premier Confirms Sixth Covid-19 Related Death
[Updated] Premier David Burt confirmed that a senior citizen has died due to Covid-19, which marks the sixth Covid-19 related death in Bermuda.
Early this morning, Premier Burt tweeted, “Earlier I was informed about the passing of a senior citizen due to Covid-19. This death marks the sixth Covid-19 related death in Bermuda. This is incredibly sad news and our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.”
Update 11.25am: The Government has just released a statement saying, “The Ministry of Health can confirm that, regrettably, Bermuda experienced another COVID-19-related death at the weekend. This now takes the total number of COVID-19 deaths to six.
The Minister of Health Kim Wilson said, “On behalf of my entire team at the Ministry of Health, I want to extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of this individual. We know you must be hurting deeply right now; and Bermuda grieves with you.”
The Government also noted that the “weekend’s testing results and daily statistics will be released at this evening’s press conference.”
