Photos: Helicopter ‘Familiarisation Flights’
[Updated with photos] Two helicopters from the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship RFA Argus will “conduct familiarisation flights” across Bermuda.
In an online post, the Bermuda Police Service said, “On Monday afternoon, two helicopters from Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship RFA Argus, will conduct familiarisation flights over a number of helicopter landing sites across Bermuda.
“This was last done in 2014 and is a key part of the hurricane preparedness plan for the island.
“No personnel from the two helicopters will be granted permission to physically land on Bermuda during the brief stopover.”
Update: Photos from this afternoon below
REALLY??????? During this shelter in place for a virus they are doing hurricane preparedness?? how does that work??? if they do not land what is the point of fly over at this time? what is this?
The ship is on its way past, going to its station in the Caribbean in advance of hurricane season, hence the timing. Think you’re overreacting??
Is hurricane season cancelled because of the virus…or?
The point of the fly over is to familiarise themselves with landing locations. Do you need to actually park your car at #1 shed parking lot to familiarise yourself with the lot or can you just drive through and look? I’ll wait…
Have a look at the article before this regarding the visit of the ship, it goes into more details. For provisions and familiarization. It is something that is routinely done…guess every few years. They are here…not like they can just nip over to do it any time. They will not be landing…
God save the Queen
God save those who they think they lord over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
