Third Sector CCRE Releases Close Out Report

June 25, 2020

The Third Sector Coordinated Crisis Response Effort [CCRE] has released a close out report, which details the activities completed as a result of the multi-agency effort during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A spokesperson said, “The Third Sector Coordinated Crisis Response Effort [CCRE] has released a close out report, marking its final activity as a collaborative entity supporting nonprofits during the COVID 19 pandemic. The report details the activities completed as a result of the multi-agency effort.

“A follow-up forum is being facilitated by the Inter Agency Committee for Children and Families [IAC], with the assistance of Age Concern, Windreach, and OD Solutions, on Wednesday, July 1st for non-profits to determine collective action next steps to ensure the community continues to be aware of the Third Sector’s vital role and the impact it has in the community.

“The CCRE Close out report provides an in-depth look at the extensive work completed by the collaborative group. The report includes data on resource coordination, funding, and other products produced by the CCRE.

“The crisis response involved working with nonprofits, vendors and other service providers to coordinate and resource service delivery across 7 areas: disaster relief, nursing homes, services for the unsheltered, health services, mental heath support, food security services and protection against abuse. Other products included the Essential Services Listing and the Food Services map. The full report can be accessed online at www.bcf.bm.

“One of the final activities of the CCRE was an assessment of the impact of the pandemic on nonprofits. Data showed that 50% of nonprofits have transitioned to online services and 38% had either increased or maintained services, reflecting the strength of nonprofits in adapting to crisis conditions.

“Data also showed that nonprofits are experiencing cash flow crunches and employment impacts with almost 20% of staff employed by non-profits having been laid off, and an additional 31% working on reduced hours. An additional 31% were working on reduced hours and 33% were offering reduced or no services. The CCRE provided recommendations and resources to support nonprofits as they continue to respond to and recover from the current uncertainties.

“Throughout this process, nonprofits identified the need for collective action to raise awareness in the community of their value and impact. Anyone interested in attending the follow up Third Sector Forum on July 1st forum can register here.”
