Mailboxes Moves To New Office Location
Mailboxes has moved to new office space in the Rosebank Centre on Bermudiana Road.
A spokesperson said, “Mailboxes is celebrating its 30 year anniversary this year, and what better way to do it than by moving into a chic new office space, based in the Rosebank Centre on Bermudiana Road.
“The fresh-faced owner and President, Kenny Thomson, bought the business from his family in 2018 and set about on a mission to make it the most customer-centric, innovative and dynamic shipping company on island.
“2019 saw him buy a US-based freight consolidating company in an effort to make the whole process more efficient for his clients. He also completely digitized the business and developed a new website – making Mailboxes the easiest option for people looking to ship items on island from the US.
“2020 has brought more improvements for clients, with Kenny securing over 3,000 square feet of new office space next to the Bank of Butterfield at the top of Bermudiana Road.
“To assist with the transformation of newly acquired space, Kenny hired OBMI Bermuda to create a state-of-the-art environment where customers can collect their parcels and take advantage of all the first-rate services provided by Mailboxes. This new space also allows customers to access their mailboxes 24/7 with new electronic access which could not be offered previously.
Mr. Thomson said, “OBMI really pulled together my vision for a modern, customer-friendly space. It’s also great for my hard-working team and everyone is looking forward to coming to work in this new, bright office.”
Senior Interior Designer Vanessa Bean said, “The design of the new Mailboxes location represents the company’s renewed energy and modern generation. The space is sleek, spacious and bold. OBMI has worked with Mailboxes Unlimited since 1980, and we are proud to be a part of their remarkable journey of development and growth. We are also honored to have helped Kenny and his team leap into 2020 with style.”
The spokesperson said, “He also wanted to thank his new landlord, John Goddard, for being so helpful and accommodating with their move over.”
Mr. Thomson said, “BNTB so far has been world class and we’re super excited to spend the next 15 years, and beyond, with them.”
The spokesperson said, “The timing of the move couldn’t be better. With Covid-19 causing chaos globally, the courier company has been extra busy bringing in unavailable items to the island. Kenny explained he felt a real pressure to ensure the continued supply of essential items to help people in this uncertain time.
“He recounted one example of a mother having to rush in an insulin inhaler for her diabetic son over lockdown, which they managed to deliver to her despite the restrictions, as they knew they needed to help. He is also aware a lot of people travel over summer months and pick up unavailable items abroad – which they won’t be doing this year – so he can ship all these things from the US to Bermuda.
“This extra workload means he has been able to hire in additional staff. They currently have 11 full time staff, seven new student staff roles, and three new evening positions, all filled by Bermudians. One of his team, D’Angelo Clarke known as ‘Beanz’, has also turned his hand at acting becoming the star of their new advert, made by Uber Super Duper and filmed by INTO Bermuda, which shows the new office location.
“Kenny is excited for people to come and see the new space and meet the team. As a special offer, he is slashing the price of annual membership to only $10 if you join before the end of July. So, there is no better time to sign up and start shipping with Mailboxes. To find out more, visit Mailboxes.bm.”
