Due to technical problems at the bank, unemployment benefit payments due today were delayed, however the matter has been resolved and the payments are scheduled to be processed this evening, the Ministry of Finance said.
A spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Finance is advising the public that due to technical problems being experienced by the bank that facilitates these transfers, unemployment benefit payments due today were delayed.
“The delay has been resolved and all unemployment benefit payments are scheduled to be processed to all persons this evening.
“We know that these funds are critically important to many persons. While this situation was beyond the Government of Bermuda’s control, we worked with the financial institution to have these funds appear in customers’ accounts as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
