  1. Shelter says:

Why is there no press on the updated information last night that pushes quarantine from 4 to 8 days?

This is a major issue and means dozens of children who in good faith came back in time to quarantine, now have goalposts moved and cannot attend school next week.

    What has changed?

    • Vote For Me says:

The govt previously announced that effective Aug 25, all returning residents without pretesting would require increased self quarantine from 4 to 8 days.
The reason was we had seen an increased number of residents returning and testing positive. The increased self isolation for Bermuda residents only serves the greater good of the country.

I wish more details were given – did this person have a pre-test? Did they have tests on day 4 and 8? When was the person found to be positive?

    • Research says:

If they arrived on the 28th, then their arrival test was positive. Which is what is logical to me as there are not 4 days in between the 28th and 30th. You have to have a pre-test about 3-5 days before you come in order to get the test results in time for your flight. Within that period of time you can still contract Covid.

Secrecy is the key! No need for the general public to know. Just obey orders and continue with the masks, hand washing and max 3 boat raft up.

What they also don’t tell you is that if you’re not quarantining on your own, everyone where you’re staying has to quarantine with you until you receive your second negative test on day 8. This isn’t said anywhere on any of the documentation which sort of sucked because I’m staying with my parents and they weren’t able to give their employers a heads up. Overall though, I agree with the change and I was pleasantly surprised at the level of professionalism and thoroughness that they displayed at the airport. still managed to be in and out of the airport fairly quickly and the covid test isn’t that bad at all. Only slightly uncomfortable.
