Scott Barnes Finishes Second In SKUSA Class

August 9, 2020

Scott Barnes had yet another good day of racing taking part in the SKUSA Pro Tour Summer Nationals, making the SKUSA G1 Class Podium again after finishing second in the final.

Barnes was second in the qualifying round, his fastest lap time was 1:14.160, finishing 0.248 behind Joe Ruch.

In the pre-final race, Barnes clocked a 10 lap time of 12:36.615, he finished 1.407 behind Ruch who clocked a winning time of 12:35.208.

In the final, which saw the drivers complete 16 laps, Barnes finished second clocking a time of 20:26.608.

Barnes said, “I had to settle for 2nd in class today, I qualified only 2/10’s off the leader and pre final was able to run just behind the leader but not enough to challenge him.

“We are getting faster each session so that’s the main thing. Final race thought we could have something to battle for the win but turn one got taken off track by a Pro2 driver, was able to get it going and run down the 2nd place kart and make a pass on the last lap to save 2nd for the day.”
