Football Matches

Whereas the Minister of National Security considers that the proposed Bermuda Football Association’s Football Matches is justifying an exemption from the prohibition in regulation 5 [1] and [2] of the Public Health [COVID-19 Emergency Powers] Regulations 2020 on groups of more than seventy-five persons assembling;

Now therefore, the Minister grants an exemption under regulation 5 [4] of those Regulations permitting a group of more than seventy-five persons to assemble at the club venues with the maximum number persons as listed below during the Bermuda Football Association’s Football 2020 / 21 Season Schedule with the following conditions:

Conditions:

  1. Exemption Duration:
    • One hour before scheduled kick off and up to one hour after the conclusion of match[es].
    • September 19, 2020 until December 28, 2020
  1. All persons attending a football match venue must wear a face mask and maintain appropriate physical distancing at all times.
  2. Maximum number of spectators permitted to attend a match is as per the schedule below.
  3. Security / stewards to be on duty at match. To monitor and enforce physical distancing. [1 security guard per 75 persons as per Dept. of Health Guidelines – Mass Gatherings]
  4. Bermuda Football Association / Club Affiliates to record names of spectators for purpose of contact tracing. Names to be retained by the Bermuda Football Association for period of 28 days from date of match.
  5. Spectators must wear mask when moving about the venue.
  6. Hand sanitizing stations / equipment to be made available throughout the venue.
  7. The Ministry of National Security reserves the right to withdraw the permission to have more than seventy-five persons assembled at the event without notice to the Bermuda Football Association or cost to the Bermuda Government subject to the status of COVID 19 in the local community.
  8. The Bermuda Police Service / Ministry of National Security authorized to attend the National Sports Centre and observe for compliance of the conditions prescribed above.
