Three Separate Road Collisions On Weekend
There was a collision involving two motorbikes on the Causeway on Sunday [Oct 4] and on Saturday [Oct 3] there was a crash involving a motorcycle and a parked truck in St. Georges as well as a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Smiths.
Assistant Commissioner Martin Weekes said, “Shortly before 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, 4th October, Police and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision involving two motorbikes on The Causeway, St. Georges.
“It was initially reported that the victims, a 24-year-old- male and a 25-year-old-male, were unresponsive, but eventually regained consciousness.
“One of the injured males suffered a broken leg and head injuries. The second male also sustained head injuries.
“Preliminary enquiries indicate both cycles were travelling in opposite directions along the causeway when they collided.
“At around 10:02 p.m. on Saturday, 3rd October, police attended another serious road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a parked truck, on Wellington Back Road, St. Georges.
“The injured male rider suffered a broken arm, lacerations to the head and suspected internal bleeding.
“Also on Saturday night, shortly before 8:15, police received reports of a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle, which occurred at the junction of Jennings Road and Middle Road, Smith’s Parish.
“The male bike rider sustained suspected internal injuries.
“The victims in these collisions were all transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to their injuries which were considered serious but non-life-threatening.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Martin Weekes, stated: “It would be inappropriate to comment on these collisions as they remain under investigation at this time.
“However, I once again appeal to motorists and other road users, to exercise extreme caution when operating a vehicle.
“Stay within the speed limit. Do not drive whilst under the influence of alcohol, or drugs, prescribed or otherwise.
“Remember, driving on the island’s roads is a privilege and must be handled responsibly.”
“The Bermuda Police Service urges anyone with information on any of these incidents, to please call 211 or, the main police number, 295-0011.”

take your time, people!!!
What happens often is that both riders are heading for each other head on and nobody wants to move out of the way. Male ego? not sure. Almost like chicken. I’m not saying this is what happened but it does happen very often. Especially when somebody is heading straight at me I move over.
Why? If these idiots want to die, and you have insurance, where’s the problem?
if you find yourself having to rush for anything other than exercise you are 100% caught up in the system and not living a true life to become enlighten

Clearly it was the truck’s fault! It probably jumped out in front of the bike without warning!
