Collision At Round-A-Bout By Airport
[Updated] Traffic delays are expected in the east end due to a collision at the round-a-bout outside the airport, the police said this morning.
A police spokesperson said, “A collision has been reported at the round-a-bout outside L. F. Wade International Airport in St. George’s.
“Details are limited at this time. However, traffic delays are expected in the area.
“An update will be provided when more information is available.”
Update 12.58pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 7:50am Wednesday, July 31st police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash on the Causeway Bridge in St. George’s, near the L. F. Wade International Airport.
“It appears that the rider, said to be a 38-year-old St. George’s woman, was traveling west along the Causeway Bridge when the crash occurred.
“She was cared for at the scene by EMTs before being transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for further treatment of her injuries.
“An update on her medical condition is anticipated in due course.
“The motorcycle involved was damaged.
“However, there were no other reports of injury or damage.
“Traffic flow along that section of the bridge was reduced to one lane temporarily, which caused delays for morning commuters in the area.
“Any witnesses are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
