‘Man Chased By Individuals On Another Cycle’

November 5, 2020

The police are appealing for information about an incident in which a young man on an auxiliary cycle was “apparently being chased by individuals on another cycle” on Middle Road in Paget.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] is aware of a video clip circulating on social media, which depicts a young man on an auxiliary cycle, apparently being chased by individuals on another cycle.

“Reports are the incident occurred last Sunday evening on Middle Road, Paget near Belmont.

“The young man was at the time riding in an easterly direction when the second cycle which was headed in a westerly direction, turned around and began following him.

“In the video clip the individuals on the second cycle appear to be trying to intimidate the young man and reports are they followed him until he rode into a driveway. They are said to have then moved on without incident.

“In his attempts to escape the individuals on the second cycle, the young man had cause to ride at a high rate of speed, putting himself and other road users at risk.

“A report on this incident has been made to the BPS.

“Anyone with information on this matter, is asked to call 211 or, the main police number, 295-0011.”

Can somebody explain to me what crime was committed here?

    • Micro says:

      Harassment? Threatening behaviour?

    • question says:

Do you think chasing people around and threatening them is perfectly acceptable behaviour?

    • Toodle-oo says:

I remember a case some years back where a young lady was ‘chased’ or ‘followed’ home on her bike by a guy on another bike .
No crime was committed until she ran for her door and the guy stabbed her in the back as she grabbed the door knob and then vanished . Case remains unsolved.
