Red Cross Virtual Jingle Run 5K Run/Walk
The Bermuda Red Cross will be hosting its annual Jingle Run 5K Run/Walk virtually from Friday, December 11th until Sunday, December 13th.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda has experienced a year like no other. Bermuda Red Cross has chosen to proceed with the Annual Jingle Run 5K Run/Walk. The current climate proposed two scenarios to them, cancel the event or come up with a different way to start the spread of holiday cheer. So, it was decided to take the Annual Jingle Run Virtual.
“From December 11th – 13th they will be having their Annual Jingle Run 5K Run/Walk, not from its usual location at Bermuda Air-Conditioning on Mills Creek, but rather from anywhere on the island.
“If you are looking for a way to start the holiday with good fun and spread some holiday cheer, consider joining Bermuda Red Cross’ Annual Jingle Run 5K Run/Walk. Go here and click on Jingle Run 5K Run/Walk. Everyone will be able to choose their own routes using www.mapmyrun.com.
“Deadline for goodie bag collection is Friday, December 11th from the Red Cross office on 9 Berry Hill Road between 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
“As you run or walk dress up in your best holiday costume. Take pictures, then upload them to their FaceBook and Instagram pages [@BermudaRed Cross]. There will be a prize for the People’s Choice Award for the picture with the most votes sponsored by Gosling’s.
“For those that choose to use this event as a qualifying race, you can upload your results to RunSignUps.com Race Results. There are first place prizes for the first male and female runner.
“Also, every year at registration there is a 50/50 raffle, which is virtual as well and anyone can participate. Go here and choose Jingle Run 50/50 raffle and purchase as many as you like until December 13th at 11:59 pm. The lucky winner will win ½ the total prize in the form a gift card at any local merchant of their choice.
“Bermuda Red Cross, as an auxiliary to the Bermuda Government, is a critical humanitarian non-profit, which has served Bermuda over the past 70 years. This will be their only major fundraiser for the year. They are looking for your participation to finish the year by spreading lots of holiday cheer.
“Registration here closes at 11:59 on Sunday, December 13 2020.”
