20 Soldiers To Assist With Testing & Monitoring
To support the Government’s plans as it relates to Covid-19, the Royal Bermuda Regiment will provide 20 soldiers, with 12 to ”assist with quarantine monitoring,” 6 to assist at the testing stations and 2 to assist with testing.
This comes as the island has experienced an increase in Covid-19, with 80 positive cases confirmed already this month, and the island’s testing teams having completed over 7,000 tests so far this month.

Speaking at last night’s [Dec 8] press briefing, Premier Burt said, “To support our plan to increase testing, and following conversations with Government House, the Royal Bermuda Regiment will provide 20 soldiers.”

- 6 officers to assist at the testing stations
- 2 officers to assist with testing
The Premier added, “The government is putting additional measures in place to further increase our testing capacity. The Ministry of Health’s goal is to be able to test 1,000 people every day, and with the resources being brought to bear I am sure we will exceed this number.”
