Video: NBCLX Features ‘Work From Bermuda’

December 28, 2020

Bermuda has been featured on an NBCLX video entitled “How to Work Remotely From a Tropical Island During the Pandemic,” with the 5 minute video providing nice coverage of the island, showcasing some of the island’s scenery and more.

NBCLX is part of the NBCUniversal media giant, with the company saying the “LX stands for ‘Local X’ the ‘X’ signifying the exponential abilities that LX has in telling our communities unique stories.”

The video’s description says, “After he caught his breath from a chaotic election season, NBCLX political reporter Noah Pransky relocated his office to Bermuda, where hundreds of Americans have found safe – and affordable – ways to “work from home” away from home.

“The island beat back Covid-19 through a period of extreme restrictions at the start of the pandemic, then strict testing and tracing protocols once it reopened to tourists over the summer. Indoor mask mandates have also helped Bermuda keep the virus at-bay.”

The video was apparently filmed before our recent outbreak, and while our current outbreak is a serious concern, the island still ranks better on a per capita basis than many places worldwide, and the video speaks well of Bermuda, with one person saying “everywhere should be taking a leaf out of the playbook of Bermuda’s book”, while the host noted the island “takes Covid seriously, testing, tracing, and great mask compliance.”

Earlier this month, the Government confirmed that 587 applications have been received thus far for the Work from Bermuda One Year Residential Certificate, 508 have been approved and “244 are currently enjoying life in Bermuda and contributing daily to the local economy.”
