BPS Investigation Underway Into Reported Event
The police have confirmed that an investigation has commenced into reports of a “social event attended by a significant number of individuals” last night [Jan 1] who were “reportedly not wearing masks nor practicing social distancing.”
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] has received reports of a social event attended by a significant number of individuals and which is said to have taken place at a location in Pembroke Parish last evening. Attendees were also reportedly not wearing masks nor practicing social distancing.
“These are all offences under the current Covid-19 regulations.
“An investigation into these reports has now commenced and while the location of the reported gathering is known, the BPS is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the organisers of this event.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 211 or the main police number, 295-0011.
“We wish to once again remind the public, current Covid-19 regulations stipulate gatherings are restricted to no more than ten people, masks must be worn during such gatherings and social distancing must be observed.”

So irresponsible. Shouldn’t all of the attendees be quarantined at least until they can be tested?
Quarantine them in a cell for 14 days
Just let the public know whom were in attendance and put it on the news and whom ever will print it and keep away from them and you will know who else is spreading COVID 19.

Further proof that there’s still a large number of people here who are incapable of learning even when the example has been at some else’s expense and was free .
The ‘event’ at the sports club that then spilled over to the funeral event + one other event , all linked that ended up in 80 positive cases and 550 people placed under quarantine.
But no , we’re still going to do our thing .
If we go back into a lock down we all know who we have to thank .
Exactly, then they go work, when you look everyone at their job ends up having to quarantine, then everyone in their household has to quarantine, it’s unfortunate, as people end up not getting paid cause of their negligence. I’m saying this as this happen to me 3 times, dellwood middle, we had to quarentine 14 days 2 test, cedarbridge 14 days 2 test, my hubby job 14 days 2 test, my whole family had to quarentine 3 times, none through our negligence. It’s really unfortunate that people dont see how this is affecting others. Be safe people. Bless

I made a call Sat as I drove past huge funeral at St. Johns. Could not believe the number of people all over the place.
I reported to 211 and the response was, yes thankful but it did not seem like it was taken seriously in that “there must have been a funeral”, dah. That is why I called.
I want to know outcome of that, but where is enforcement? All I hear is after the fact and police seeking info.
I called to report a 30 person gathering outside a restaurant without masks and they hung up on me once I gave the info. Don’t know what became of it? 211 appears to be a politrick at best!
Dont understand why?? It’s only looks like covid rules are 4 black people i see daily that the users on the road i see people out side gas stations smoke and drinking coffee mask down push paddlers in groups spitting and talking in each other face 6 feet is 6 feet tickets pls but soon as blacks do something oh lord new rules come out lol
