Police Confirm: Man Dies After Collision
The police have confirmed that a 35-year-old man has died following a collision early this morning [Jan 11] in Devonshire.
A police spokesperson said, “Shortly after 1:00 a.m. today, Monday 11th January, 2021, police responded to a report of a serious single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle, just west of Terceira’s service station on the North Shore Road, Devonshire.
“Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive male with a severe leg injury lying on the roadway. The officers immediately commenced C.P.R. on the victim, a thirty-five-year-old Smith’s Parish resident, until the arrival of EMTs a short time after.
“He was subsequently transported via ambulance, to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.
“No further information will be provided until all next of kin have been notified.
“This marks the second road fatality of 2021.
