Ojeda Smith Joins Wakefield Quin Law Firm
Wakefield Quin announced that Ojeda Smith has joined the firm as a pupil, working across all of the firm’s practice groups with an emphasis on corporate law.
Ms. Smith previously worked at the firm in 2018 and 2019 as a summer student and is a two-time recipient of Wakefield Quin’s legal scholarship award.
Erik Gotfredsen, director and CEO of Wakefield Quin, said, “We are delighted to welcome back Ojeda to the firm. We believe she has the exceptional qualities and skills necessary to excel as a lawyer.”
Ms. Smith stated, “My past work experience with Wakefield Quin has been invaluable to my legal education and training and I am thrilled to have obtained a pupillage with the firm.
“I want to thank Wakefield Quin for all the support, encouragement and guidance I received during my past summer work placements. My goal is to learn as much as I can during the coming year to become a valued member of the Bermuda Bar.”
“Hiring talented pupils is of paramount importance,” stated Mr. Gotfredsen. “Our goal is to identify students who are not only capable of becoming outstanding lawyers, but those who can excel in our demanding, diverse and fast-paced work environment in order that they can continue to grow professionally and reach their full potential. We congratulate Ojeda on all of her successes to date and look forward to working with her through the final phase of her training.”
Ms. Smith is a graduate of The Bermuda High School. She obtained her BA [Hons] in Criminology from Nottingham Trent University in 2018 and completed both the Graduate Diploma in Law and the LLM Legal Practice Course [with Commendation] at Nottingham Law School.
Congrats. Another inspiration for young people.
