City Announces Expansion Of Executive Team

The City of Hamilton said they would like to “formally introduce to the public its Executive Team who continue to drive the City’s policies and projects to ensure that we remain a leader in public service” adding that they “are proud to highlight that the team is entirely Bermudian.”

“Recently, the City’s Executive Team expanded with the addition of the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Director of Human Resources. Additionally, the titles of our Executive members were modernized to reflect the current standard in the business community and we are excited to highlight these committed and talented individuals who will ensure that the City continues to provide quality services and initiatives for the residents, business community and visitors to the City of Hamilton.”

“It was felt that that some of the previous titles were dated and did not best reflect the work and roles of these individuals,” explained Chief Executive Officer & Secretary Dwayne Caines.

“In keeping with our objective of being a progressive, adaptive, and future-focused organization, the City has recently modernized the titles of the Executive Team members as well as some of the Senior Managers to reflect the current standard in the business community.”

The City said, “The title changes formally came into effect this week and are listed below:

Executive Team Title Changes

Dwayne Caines

“Chief Executive Officer/City Secretary: The Chief Executive Officer & Secretary to the Corporation of Hamilton is responsible for implementing the goals, strategies and policies of the Corporation of Hamilton as directed by resolution of the Board members. It is the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer & Secretary to ensure that the day-to-day operations of the City of Hamilton are efficient and service-oriented and to be the driving force behind the City’s Mission to provide positive experiences for City-users through the delivery of quality initiatives and services.

Patrick Cooper

“Chief Operating Officer/ City Engineer: The City of Hamilton’s Chief Operating Officer/City Engineer is responsible for the diverse business operations of the City. The Chief Operating Officer/City Engineer works to create practical solutions to engineering challenges and oversees a team that is responsible for implementing those solutions within a specified budget and timeframe. They also oversee all capital projects and contracts undertaken by the City and are responsible for the management and maintenance of all City properties and services as well as future City planning.

Tanya Iris

“Chief Financial Officer: The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for all aspects of the City’s financial accounting and reporting, treasury and risk management functions. The Chief Financial Officer works to prepare and manage short-term and long-term budgeting objectives, including cash flow forecast, financing options and any amendments to the budget throughout the year.

Jessica Astwood

“Director of Marketing and Communications: The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for strategically developing short- and long-term plans to meet the City’s marketing, communications and public relations objectives and to promote City initiatives and services. The Director of Marketing and Communications also oversees and manages all aspects of events produced by the City of Hamilton with the aim of positively impacting our community and fostering pride in our City.

Lindell Foster

“Director of Human Resources: The City of Hamilton’s Director of Human Resources plans and directs all functions of the Human Resources Department. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the formulation and implementation of all HR policies and procedures. They ensure that the City continues to invest in its staff by engaging with employees, developing succession planning, and implementing leadership development.

Senior Management Title Changes

Siobhan Fubler

“Controller: The City of Hamilton’s Controller oversees the accounting and financial reporting procedures of the organization. The Controller manages all accounting transactions and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Duane Crockwell

“Operations Manger: Working under the direction of the City Engineer, the Operations Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the City inclusive of traffic management, sanitation and engineering.”

    Congrats! I see why they need the money for parking in the City. These employees easily cost over $1m per year.

    It never ceases to amaze me how many employees are required to tun a little city in the middle of the Atlantic. You are correct John Caines a million a year should just about cover it. On another note KEMH is another joke, pleading poverty and the salaries in that small hospital are obscene. No one is prepared to cut back for the best interests of the community at large.

      So, noting that these a title changes which indicates these folks are already employed, and that they better represent the roles they perform. What’s the issue?

      Are you a Corp. of Hamilton rate payer? If not, it’s really not your business.
