Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Crime Stoppers Bermuda will be holding its Weekend Film Experience virtually.

A spokesperson said, “The 2021 Crime Stoppers Weekend Film Experience has altered its format to maintain a safe & enjoyable experience for all attendees considering the evolving health & safety protocols related to the Covid-19 by going virtual!

“Crime Stoppers has teamed up with Andrew Stoneham, a promising young film maker, who for three years in a row has selected the film that has won the Oscar for Best Picture and provided our weekend film audience with the unique opportunity to enjoy numerous films that would not have come to a commercial cinema in Bermuda.

“This year, Andrew has set up ‘The Screening Room’ which will offer Bermuda film lovers a selection of Oscar nominated full-length and short films to either screen mirror to your smart TV, or on your laptop, iPad, tablet or computers. Patrons and sponsors will have access to an executive account and the general audience can join this experience through their personal account.”

Mr. Stoneham, “During this COVID-19 crisis, we are facing unprecedented turmoil that has a direct impact on every aspect of our lives. The things we took for granted are now closed or no longer functional, jobs have been lost, and in all the world’s major towns and cities, cinemas and theatres have been dark.

“With all that’s going on, I was happy to innovate this year’s film weekend by going virtual so that Bermuda can still have the unique opportunity to experience an array of excellent films which they would normally not have the chance to view.”

The spokesperson said, “This year’s films include:

There have been some good Bermuda documentaries the last couple of years. How about throwing those films a bone?
