Madeiros Records 3 Victories In Siena Win
Shelby Madeiros and her Siena Women’s Tennis teammates recently ended the regular season on a three game winning streak as they defeated the Niagara Purple Eagles by a final score of 6 – 1 at Central Park in Schenectady.
With the win, Siena finishes the season in a tie for second in the MAAC.
Madeiros showed the coach what she is capable of to end off the season, playing her first official doubles match and making it three wins in a row in the singles.
Siena took the doubles point with wins on courts 2 and 3. Maanya Viswanath and Madeiros shut the door with a win on court 3 over Erika Gonzalez and Kirah Regales by a final of 6-2 to give Siena the 1-0 lead.
Madeiros then took to the court in the number 6 singles spot, taking on Regales with the pair battling in a three-setter.
Madeiros won the first set 7-5, but Regales won the second set 6-4. Madeiros then closed out the match by winning the third set 6-4.
