Bermudian footballer Nia Christopher scored for Towson University as they played to a 1 – 0 victory over Delaware.
The school’s match report said, “The first career goal for Towson University women’s soccer freshman Nia Christopher stood up as the game-winning goal as the Tigers collected their first Colonial Athletic Association [CAA] win of the spring 2021 season. Towson topped long-time foe Delaware 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Tiger Field.
“Christopher shook off a defender at the top of the box, cutting back inside before beating the Blue Hen netminder to the left post for a 19th minute goal, the lone marker of the game. Towson [2-3-2, 1-2-0 CAA North] got a three-save shutout from rookie goalkeeper Riley Melendez, which was aided by Towson’s offense pressuring the Blue Hens for a majority of the game.”
