Two Arrested After Fight Involving A Group
[Updated] The police have arrested two males after “a fight involving a group of four males” in which one of the males was reportedly “armed with a knife, while another was carrying a baseball bat.”
A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:30 p.m. today, Monday 17th May, police responded to a report of a fight involving a group of four males, outside the Berkeley Institute.
“Callers reported one of the males was armed with a knife, while another was carrying a baseball bat.
“Upon arrival, police received information that two of the males involved in the incident left on a motorcycle and two others had gone to a nearby residence.
“Officers attended the residence and arrested the two males who allegedly were armed.
“There were several witnesses to this incident and police are appealing for individuals, particularly a woman who recorded the incident on a cell phone to please call 211 or, the main police number, 295-0011.
“The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank those members of the public who have already assisted by providing information which helped in identifying the two suspects who were subsequently arrested.”
Update May 18, 1.11pm: The Berkeley Board of Governors noted that “whilst the unfortunate incident occurred on the road outside of the School, it in no way involved the School, the students or any other persons associated with the School. A better description of the location would be that it happened near the junction of Berkeley Road and Mount Hill.”
Oh dear I hope the children didn’t witness this behavior.
They probably were children…
Where are the appeals from Government for us to live by a higher standard than this? I do believe that we live up to the expectations held for us and so let’s raise those expectations… and communicate them. It may fall on a lot of deaf ears… but maybe less than you’d think.
