Adam Hall & Aberdeen Play Greenville Drive
Fresh off a series win over Brooklyn, Adam Hall and his Aberdeen IronBirds teammates went back on the road to begin a series in Greenville, South Carolina.
Aberdeen led early and again late, but they were edged by the Greenville Drive, the High-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, 6 – 5.
Greenville took a 1 – 0 lead in the bottom of the first, but Aberdeen scored twice in the top of the second to take a 2 – 1 lead.
Greenville was the next team to score, with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and then another run in the bottom of the sixth to take a 4 – 2 lead.
Aberdeen then scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to reclaim the lead 5 – 4, but Greenville scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 6 – 5 lead into the ninth; they shut out Aberdeen in the top of the ninth to claim the victory.
Hall, playing in the lead-off position, went 3 for 5 from the plate, with two hits and two stolen bases.
